One of the most famous tourist destinations in Vietnam is the mountain town of Sapa, near the base of mount Fanxipan, the highest mountain in Vietnam / South East Asia. Famed for the beautiful terraced rice fields that cling to the sides of the hills, Sapa is a spectacular place to explore and a great option for those who would like to experience a taste of life in the highlands.

Introduction

Lao Chai village: Located 7 Kms from Sapa, it is quite approachable from Sapa for a travllers who do not have much time. In this village which you will have a welcome feeling at any house of the hospitable people there. You can interact them, learn about their culture and customs.

Ta Van is located in the northern province of Lao Cai, about 5 kilometres from Sapa, at an altitude of 1, 816 meters. This province borders the province of Yunnan in south-west China, and the indigenous people here share many cultural features with their Chinese neighbours.

Detailed Ititnerary

Night 1: Hanoi - Lao Cai ( on Thurs)

19h30: Our guide pick up you from your hotel to go to rail way station B, catch the night train for Lao Cai. You will have a good sleep with the solf sleeper bert

Day 1: Sapa - Cat Cat village ( B, L, D) - Friday

06h00: pick up from Lao Cai train station, get on the bus to continue to Sapa. After breakfast. Our guide will take you to Cat Cat village, visit the French existing hidro - electric power station beside the Cat Cat waterfall. Study the way H’Mong villagers make their own hamp clothes, grow rice and corn. See the show of minority people - traditional dance and singing. Go back to Sapa on foot.

11h30: Check in hotel, have lunch.

You are free to discover Sapa town or walk up the Ham Rong – Orchird garden to greet the sun. Chat with minority children in market.

18h00: Have dinner then you are free to walk around Sapa town in the evening.

Day 2: Sapa - Y Linh Ho - Lao Chai - Ta Van ( B, L, D) - Saturday

7h30: after breakfast, we start with 6 km walking down to the South East of Sapa alongside Muong Hoa valley to Y Linh Ho village, trek 2 km down to Lao Chai village, take picture of paddle field and visit minority house and school. Have picnic lunch in the Black H’Mong house, discover their daily life style and enjoy landscape.
13h00: continue your trekking to Tavan village of Dzay minority people then back to Sapa by van. Arrive Sapa at 15h30. Have dinner in restaurant, free to go shopping. Overnight in hotel in Sapa

Day3: Bac Ha Market (only on Sunday) (B,L,D)

Breakfast before 07h30. Get on bus to Bac Ha Market. 120 Km on the bus from Sapa. Bac Ha market is known as the most colorful market of the Northwest of Vietnam. The every Sunday market held by more than 8 ethnic groups (Tay, Dzay, black Dzao, Flower H’Mong…) Attend the market you will find back the actual cases of trading barter by cattle, handicrafts…) Afternoon, walk to visit Ban Pho village, call on some local houses, visit the Cat King’s house (old building built by the French in 1920). Say good bye to Bac Ha and get back to Lao Cai station. Dinner in restaurant in Lao Cai. Get your night train to Hanoi. Arrive at Hanoi train station about 5h00. The tour ends.
